Bodywork At Laughing Tree Space

Imagine listening to your own heart beat with the aid of a stethoscope. Magnified by the instrument, you can hear the rhythm and the cadence of you own heart with a stereo sweetness; underneath the head of the instrument, you can feel with greater clarity each contraction and release. Even when you remove the ear pieces, you are left with a greater depth of knowing your own body. You may even hear the amplified echo in the soft internal dance of your own heart.
Recieving bodywork is a way of deepening and gently magnifying your own ability to listen to your body and your being. The bodyworker is a facilitator of an ongoing dialogue. Such reflection and subtle dialogue allows patterns of tension, stress, and trauma which have been held by body, mind, energy, or emotion to unwind. There is a resetting and a remembering back to the inherent wholeness and health to which we each were born.
Laughing Tree Space is delighted to support each individual inrealizing the inherent resources of her or his being (that is the physical body, the mental body, and the subtle, emotional, and energetic bodies). Laughing Tree offers an invitation towards change by witnessing what is currently present.
Healing comes from the root "hale" or to make whole. To invite a person home to her physical body and to open into a greater awareness of the subtle body, is to step into greater wholeness. This helps one to embody life more fully, with less stress, greater ease, and more joy. Laughing Tree's approach combines a spacious and deep listening with a keen awareness of the structure and the unique stories each being tells through her body. Laughing Tree is most interested in giving individuals tools for living, not in a concept like "fixing, curing, or healing." You aren't broken, and you are already whole, even if you don't always remember that.
Laughing Tree Space, offers Resources for Embodied Living through bodywork, nourishment and self care inspired by Ayurveda, yoga, and workshops and classes on living in the body and being in the world. Bodywork is the hands on, full being contact, piece which helps to nurture, integrate, and support other changes you might be making or experiencing in your life.

Polarity Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Reiki...
“The healing process is the pivotal point around which all polarity procedures spin. The intention of Polarity Therapy is to stimulate and encourage it…Health is not just about an absence of symptoms, but is more an attitude and way of life that can be learned and experienced. People initially come to see a polarity therapist because they are in some form of pain or discomfort. This may have physical, emotional, or mental tones. I do not perceive my role as a therapist as one of curing their pain. I see my role and the role of polarity therapy at its greatest depth, as helping the client explore, tolerate, accept and finally let go of their pain or problem. It is an educative rather than corrective role. At a deep level I believe that the body and its energies know best, if given the chance. Ill health, pain and suffering is a process, not a thing. It is a process which can be known and perceived by ourselves. Healing is also a process; it too can be known and perceived.”—The Polarity Process: Energy as a Healing Art, Franklin Sills (North Atlantic Books, 2002)
Developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, (Doctor of Osteopathy, Chiropractic, and Naturopathy,1890-1981), over his 60 year medical career, Polarity Therapy draws on Osteopathy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Ayurveda, and Chinese Medicine to create a holistic system for health. Working with the nervous system, the cranial sacral system, both the physical and energetic structure of the body, diet, lifestyle, and exercise, Polarity Therapy seeks to integrate, balance, and redirect the body towards its inherent health. As a bodywork modality, the touch can be specific, deep, general, stimulating, calming, light, on or off the physical body, depending on the needs of the client and the intended focus of the session; it can influence bones, muscles, connective tissue, nervous system balance, fluid, and energetic flow within the body. Polarity is process-oriented, and it is well suited to support and encourage transformation and healing on many levels. Key applications include (but are not limited to) trauma resolution, pain reduction, structural integration, and support in healing both acute and chronic conditions. Polarity Therapy can be a complement and an adjunct to other modalities and medical approaches.
Oh yes, there is more. To come. Soon. Cranial Sacral Therapy, Reiki, etc.
